techniques from several influences such as rhythmic structures from India
and Africa as well from jazz and rock drumming. The sonic capabilities
of metallic instruments are widely varied, and Crash seeks to
fully explore the sound world of these three seemingly simple instruments.

Mist is
excellent composition that will find its way onto many diverse programs.
Written for solo marimba and a multiple percussion set up,
the piece is modern in terms of pitch but with many themes, motives
and returning ideas which give the piece a solid form and 'sound'. Highly
